Deborah Ross raised a whopping $4.3 million for the quarter that ended September 30. The amount shows the enthusiasm behind Ross’ campaign and gives her momentum heading into the final stretch of the race. It also tells us where the national Democrats’ priorities lie in their fight to win the Senate. And it makes North Carolina the single most important state of the election cycle.
Make no mistake, the money Ross raised is a measure of her caliber as a candidate, but no candidate raises money like that without help from the national network built by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. The DSCC now sees North Carolina as key to winning back the Senate and they are putting their full weight behind Ross. Both Florida and Ohio seem to be falling off the map, narrowing their path. In contrast, Ross has proven her mettle, putting together an impressive campaign and garnering the enthusiasm of Democrats across the state.
With this development, North Carolina has emerged as the state to watch. Ross is key to winning the Senate for Democrats; The Pat McCrory-Roy Cooper matchup is the marquee Governor’s race in the country; and the Clinton campaign knows that if they win North Carolina, Donald Trump has virtually no path to victory.
North Carolina has become at the end of the cycle what New Hampshire and Iowa have become at the become at the beginning. Those two states launch the presidential campaigns. North Carolina finishes them. We have nominees in the state virtually weekly and the highest profile surrogates are here when they aren’t. Candidates and their superPACs are about to flood the airways with ads. So get ready to buckle your seat belts and turn off the TV.

Bloomberg just commissioned a large poll using the A+ rated pollster, Selzer and Company, and found that Deborah Ross holds a 2 point lead over the Republican. Consequently, Real Clear Politics averages Ross as 1.2 points ahead of the Republican Senator.
For most of my working life, I lived in California where Democrats had a huge advantage. Republicans were wasting their money there. The electorate did not get a steady diet of political ads. The good news here is that the races are competitive. The bad news: the airwaves are saturated with political ads especially during the dinner hour. The battleground states get the full measure of nastiness.
Clinton and Trump should rent apartments in Raleigh. They are here constantly.

I spent 2 summers in CA and It must have been a different state than the one you are referring to. Democrat run states slip I to entitlement, socialist, big government centers, where liberal, progressive (collectivism) is embraced, personal freedom and self defense are frowned upon, and the entitlement, socialism mentality is the norm.

Lol! I have family in CA, and have visited each year for 40+ years now. I encourage to you read history and see the destruction socialism has created in other nations that embraced it, and I am not talking about helping people out, I am talking about all out socialism, which America is headed for.

You are right, Human life is very precious, that’s why I oppose any politician who supports the murder of babies, (abortion) all in the name of “freedom of choice”,and, that’s why legal firearms ownership AND, stand your ground, castle doctrines, concealed carry, etc are very important in personal self defense, because the boys in blue will never be there to save you, nor are they legally bound to do so.
