This guy’s the bomb

Mark Walker is not ready for prime time. His victory over Phil Berger, Jr. in the primary runoff was clearly a rejection of the establishment, not an endorsement of him. And the more we learn, the more disturbed we should be.

The latest disclosure is Walker’s willingness to launch an unprovoked air strike on Mexico. You heard that right. In a forum during the primary, Walker said that he believed going to war with our southern neighbor is an appropriate action to stem the flow of undocumented immigrants crossing the border.

And remember, Walker’s a preacher. He’s willing to kill a bunch of innocent Mexicans in order to prevent other people from trying to enter our country to find a better life. I wonder what his congregation thinks about that? And I wonder which book of bible supports it?

More importantly, does the National Republican Congressional Committee agree? How about Congressman Holding? Or Congresswoman Foxx? And what about Speaker Boehner? I bet they would really prefer Laura Fjeld.

Republicans would be wise to run from this guy. If he gets to Congress, he’ll be North Carolina’s version of Louie Gohmert, the Texas Congressman who regularly embarrasses himself but is too dense to know it. With 36 Congressional districts in Texas, Gohmert’s GOP colleagues can hide from him. With only 13 in North Carolina, the GOP will have to own Walker and all of his crazy.

Hopefully the GOP will endorse this loonytune thus making it a lot easier for undecideds to reject his brand of nutty extremism.

On the other hand, illegal immigration is forcing down wages in this country. What we need is an honest discussion. Not the liberal knee jerk to let in every illegal they can find. And not the tea party knee jerk to build a wall and shoot at anyone who looks at the wall from the south side. If anything though, the libs are the worst of the lot. They would rather condemn us to declining wages and higher taxes.

Oh please. Wages are being depressed much more so by states and employers refusing an increase to the minimum wage.
And conservatives would rather “condemn us” to the have and have-nots AND low wages……

I read that news item over breakfast, and choked on my coffee. Where on earth does the GOP find these stooges? (Not “on earth,” but perhaps on some other fantasy planet?).

The sad thing is that a segment of the GOP/conservative base (i.e., Tea Partiers, 2nd- Amendment-above-all gun advocates, anti-government militia types, and those opposing immigration reform ) would support this dimwit and his thinking on the matter.
