To wit, a twit

Attention, Tillis campaign. Please find something for your boss to do. And keep him off of twitter. He’s making a fool of himself again.

Screen Shot 2014-07-05 at 11.00.21 AMAt 10:45 this morning, July, 5, Thom Tillis is sending Kay Hagan messages that make no sense. I think it’s his lame attempt at snark. It fails miserably. More importantly, though, the guy who is North Carolina’s Speaker of the House and aspiring US Senator shouldn’t be sending lame, sarcastic tweets, particularly ones that don’t make any sense.

Tillis’ tweet is directed at Kay Hagan, saying she’s getting the state’s motto, “To be rather than to seem,” backwards. Then says “Her friends, too…” and links to a New York Times article on Tom Steyer and his investment in coal mines in other countries. Steyer is the liberal billionaire answer to the Koch brothers, spending millions to elect environmentally friendly Members of Congress.

Tillis obviously never took a logic class. His construct works like this: Tom Steyer is hypocrite. Steyer supports environmental groups. Environmental groups support Kay Hagan. Therefore, Kay Hagan is a hypocrite. It doesn’t work and it makes Thom Tillis look silly and petty when he needs to look serious and thoughtful.

That said, Tillis and Hagan both should stop talking about superPACs and the billionaires that fund them. Nobody is going to vote for or against you based on which billionaires are on which side. Talk about what you are going to do or not do for the people of North Carolina. Voters will respect you more and you will give them a clearer choice in November. Besides, you won’t sound silly.

Tweeting stupid is always a reflection of the tweeter. To wit, a twit.

  1. Someone from Main Street USA

I am new to NC, and rather astonished at the low bar NC politicians can’t seem to reach when it comes to showcasing their intellect. Tillis seems woefully incapable of the job of US Senator.

      Well said, Mainstreet.

Welcome to NC. May the goddess have mercy on your soul.

We are hoping you can help us out at the voting booth. And please invite your friends from other states to come join us. We’re going to get back to the majority one of these days. Let’s make it sooner than later.

James, hate to break it to you, but I think SCOTUS bumped the goddess from living in the USA… And yes, I will be voting in the fall! Here’s to hoping wing nuts get voted out!
