Thomas, I am glad to know you’ve come off the sidelines. If only others understood that the only way to change things is to get involved. Don’t just talk about it, do something!

Her strong business ties in Lee County may help against a well bankrolled Republican. Perhaps some of the voters in Moore County will chose her as well.

Problem is I think even though the DEM candidate withdrew her name will still be on the ballot which will hurt April's chances of picking uo DEM votes.

Are you sure about that? The usual problem is that the ballot has already gone to the printer by the time the candidate withdraws. But IIRC ballots don't start getting mailed out until around Sept 1st.

I don't know home much lead time the printer needs, but they definitely had to wait to see if any independents qualified before printing the ballot. Per what I found online, the NCSBE had until April 6th to verify the signatures on her application. That was only 10 days ago.

There's a vacuum in the Republican center if the voters smarten up and realize the choice is not simply MAGA or socialists!

Who are you calling Socialist Jeff?

In my red area of the state, a socialist is a pejorative for anyone who isn't with Trump: RINOs, unaffiliateds, "libs". (So by that definition, I'm calling myself a Socialist.) Since this area (and her area) doesn't have that many registered Dems, the opportunity for an centrist independent is the unaffiliateds; as well as those Republicans abandoning Trump who understand that there's a left of MAGA that isn't communist!

For quite a while now the word socialist has been bandied about like a tennis ball at Wimbledon as a scare tactic. That’s why I asked. We are not socialists nor is this country. While there is mention in our founding documents about providing for the common good, but until Trump came along there was no state owned industries, businesses or resources. He’s the one who changed that and no one stopped him.
