Budd is a dyed in the wool fascist. He co-sponsored the SAVE Act and has no problem disenfranchising people, especially women and minorities. Dump him North Carolina.

Budd is backing the root level sharing of our national security infrastructure with a foreign country. We have never done that before and should never, especially since that country, Israel, is now an authoritarian state known to have engaged in espionage against our country as well as providing surveillance technology that targets American citizens while Israel continues to violate human rights with impunity.

Don’t forget that Rep. Budd voted with MAGA radicals not to confirm Biden’s election!

Budd is only looking out for Budd. His history tells everything that needs to be said. He needs to be gone in 2028. NOT Senator material!

Never have we had a more useless suit in the Senate.

Completely agree with this analysis. But, the Democrats MUST nominate a strong candidate to oppose Budd. One cautionary note: If there are more democratic socialists nominated this year Budd will have an easier time,

Budd is an empty suit as senator. Always supporting Trump, and AWOL on trying to develop a legislative record of substance. This latest move is a sign that he knows he can't win if Trump isn't on the ballot, so he will buck Trump by butting heads with 47 just a wee bit. It's calculating and disingenuous. Shows the true colors of a NC Republican by only caring about the state and his fellow North Carolinians when it stands to benefit himself.

A good piece, Thomas, although I prefer not to be bothered by ANY thoughts of Ted Budd at all. :). Generally he is out of sight, out of mind.

Budd has been useless as a senator

Budd was as useless as teats on a boar hog when he was my congressman too!

We have no one representing us in the Senate. Neither Tillis nor Budd has ever replied to a letter or phone call I’ve made.

I get boilerplate responses from Budd's office that don't address the concerns I have raised. Democrats need to start recruiting a strong strong candidate Now for 2028. And for heaven's sake do the oppo resear4cg to make sure that there aren't any skeletons in the closet!

Budd’s issues have become increasingly clear to those managing the Senate. Mark Twain once remarked, "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.” Just take the $174,000 per year and run.

Let’s see what he does about confirmation of Blanche. That’ll be a good indication of where he is. I bet he’ll vote to confirm!

I don’t think it will even be a question. Both will vote to confirm.

Budd will NEVER Buck Trump! Trump understands one thing…how to manipulate public opinion.

Trump knows full well that Budd is just as much in bed with him as ever.

Trump also understands that Budd is in a tough reelection campaign that requires him to “Appear” to move closer to the political center.

So…this appearance of Budd bucking Trump is just a show to manipulate the vote in Budd’s favor to be reelected.

Once the election is over Budd will retreat into his Trump bed once more. Period.

It’s too late, Budd.

Thoughtful consideration 'bout our mostly silent Senator.

Any similar thoughts on our almost voiceless incumbent 9th District Representative?

Especially in the context of yesterday's "honorables" decision opening national party checking accounts directly to candidates' campaigns?

This November is a bit closer than 2028 :-)
