Very well written and detailed article! However, you missed on the context on how the overtly racist current and prior voter ID laws and surgerical precision outlawing some forms of valid IDs were used to disqualify college and black voters in 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018. Another form of this unconstitutional mess has been reintroduced in 2024 to hamper younger, college, black, and brown voter turnout again.

We live in Wilkes County a very Republican county. In the last 5 days we have gotten 4 full color pro-Trump and anti-Harris mailers from the NC Republican Party. Are these being mailed to other parts of the state? Are the NC Republicans really worried? Why are they targeting such a pro-Trump area? Eva Ingle, Laurel Springs

I have received flyers from both parties in the mail. Also, a few days ago, a young black woman was canvasing door-to-door in my area, and she knocked on my door. She handed me a flyer from the Black Progressive Action Coalition. It had a list of all the things progressives are in favor of, from voting rights to reproductive rights to Social Security and Medicare and everything in between. It's great to see that the young people are helping to get the message out.

Thomas, you still analyze and describe a political landscape better than anyone I’ve read. It’s appropriate you project election results on your lawn after of projecting the likely outcome on paper. Cheers to you, my friend.

I guess what you're saying is the way you win, is you show up. And you show up every time.
