This will be a gigantic problem nationwide in 2026. There will be a call from the right to nullify election based on bogus claims. There will be efforts to circumvent traditions and the SCOTUS will be the last bastion. I'm not encouraged that Dems can regain control of congress. There is a great propaganda effort by Trumpsters, and the Dem brand is inexplicably at a low level, I'm not sure why.

NC descends even further into an impaired democracy. Woodhouse is total wackadoodle. .Thanksgiving must be hell for his liberal brother and family.

Danna,

May I suggest starting with your local municipal elections this November. Encourage turnout. If possible, get to know your local (county) Election Board member (members if you happen to be a registered Republican). Understand how they are appointed.

I 'spect most of us can affect change successfully best starting at the local level - steaming at the state or national levels tends mostly to just increase local humidity :-)

A principled political party, as affirmed by both tradition and conscience, must defend the vulnerable and the fatherless, and uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. In North Carolina, however, such leadership has faltered—undermined by Republican-led cuts to public education, entrenched self-dealing, and a persistent disregard for basic human decency. These are not mere policy disagreements; they are moral failures with lasting consequences.

My hope is that voters in ALL states are up to the challenge of electing Democrats to their State House and State Senate to flush the partisanship out of the state's government and judiciary.

If the GOP wasn't already comprised of opportunistic unethical partisan hacks, under the Trump regime they are ALL opportunistic, partisan and unethical to the point of criminality, that is they would be if the rule of law still existed.
