I live in deep Red Union County, NC. I would love to describe myself as a Democratic Socialist, that is where the heart of my values define me.
But, if I am to ever get my neighbors to consider voting for Democrats I have to keep my more radical ideas in check.
Even then, it’s a steep climb. These folks in rural Union County are so thoroughly brainwashed in MAGA politics that they won’t even consider anything but straight Republican.
Good luck if the Democratic Party gets much more Left of Roy Cooper.

I have a dilemma you may be able to offer some insight into, and I suspect some other readers might also share my question: As we close in on the midterms, I am being bombarded with funding requests from various organizations: young voters/voters of tomorrow, leaving MAGAs, Former Republicans (Lincoln Project), and former congressmen (Adam Kinzinger) are just a few that come to mind. For a MODERATE income centrist Democrat like me, where would you recommend I invest my relatively limited funds?
Can’t agree more. The nightmare that is our current administration rejoices every time the word socialist is used. “Defund the police” got this conman elected. Look for common ground and avoid inflammatory rhetoric, please.

Competitive candidates, not organizations. In NC, Roy Cooper, NC Democratic Party, House and Senate candidates.
