I wasn't unhappy with the reaction of the generals, but it's a mighty low bar when remaining silent is the best we can expect.
It wouldn't be surprising to discover that senior military officials are actively planning some type of military coup. Specifically, a plan to disobey Trump's orders in a massive show of resistance. From there I would go to arresting the motherfucker and all of his senior administration, plus the Supreme Court. Hold them in military jails until a plan can be worked out to replace them with some kind of elected interim administration that is not held bent on destroying the country.
I don't have a plan to do this or any knowledge of how it might get done, I just know that the incremental collapse of America is underway and we're not gonna get out of it using our institutions, which I've already been co-opted by the regime. The Supreme Court is gone. Congress is gone. Elections are suspect. Armed thugs are invading our cities. The pedophile in chief is running a con to stay out of jail. Our ability to trust information coming from the government is zero. Our country is fucked. Time for something different.
Just a guess, if 800 generals are silent in public, I think their opponents should fear those generals. If we ever have a military coup orchestrated by the generals the WH will notsee them coming, and will still be haking their heads as they go thru the body cavity search.
"Immature braggart and bully." Spot on Thomas. The silence of the Brass spoke volumes. He showed complete disrespect for the highly decorated, professional, combat experienced, leaders of our Troops. He also showed our enemies the foolishness and ineptness of our DOD secretary. Would not be surprised to see more aggression from Russian and China towards the US before the end of Trump's term.
Almost laughable, if not such serious times and so much at stake. Performative cosplay by a culture warrior who is so far out of his league it's pitiful, even by Trump standards. Trump and company have broken so many rules and compromised so many traditions you have to wonder what's next. They are setting us up for devilment and shenanigans during midterms, that much is for sure!
Going to an Ivy League school doesn’t necessarily give an indication of intelligence. See Bush, G.W. who graduated from Yale, I believe. And I can’t imagine anyone calling him “intelligent”. But maybe I just misunderestimate him. Because he important question is, after all, “Is our children learning?” So Harvard, Princeton… whatever. Crediting Sparkle Pony Hegseth with intelligence for what is more a product of money may be a bit of a reach. Especially when you consider that he spent an afternoon lecturing a room full of men and women who’ve probably been soldiering since he was no more than an ill-considered life choice in the back seat of Sparkle Daddy’s ‘62 Plymouth Valiant Station Wagon (the guy just *screams* ugly A-Body Mopar, doesn’t he?) on the “warrior ethos”.
A word on the stoicism of the audience, though. While I’m quite sure that a large percentage of them were having an internal dialogue that went something like “THIS fucking guy…”, it’s EXPECTED that they will remain politically neutral -- at least publicly. This is why they’re not allowed to appear in political ads in uniform, or publicly endorse a candidate. ANY candidate. SO the fact that they remained silent and unmoved should be taken as evidence of their professionalism and training, but what’s under the surface only they know for sure.
Every member of the military learns in their earliest training that they are obligated to obey all lawful orders. And that they also have the obligation to DISobey — and report — UNlawful ones. The generals and admirals at Sparkle Pony’s pep rally no doubt remember that. But that may have been the threat that was implied here — toe the line or we’ll find someone who will. And if that happens, then we’re left to hope that the rack and file *also* remember that training.
What real leaders command respect by their actions. Posers like Hegseth and Captain Covfefe von Schitzinpants DEmand it, and don’t even understand that there’s a difference. A vast gulf of difference.
"It’s always hard to know how much is performance and how much is real."
It's not "hard to know." It's all real. That reasonable patriots will ask themselves this question and waste time trying to answer it is part of the traitors' plan. What has to happen before people realize this?
Education doesn’t necessarily make you smart—it should teach critical thinking, but it doesn’t always succeed. Some of the most impactful innovations come from the uncredentialed; John Garand, for instance, wasn’t formally trained, yet his M1 rifle helped win WWII. Pete Hegseth may think he’s a legend, but his Harvard pedigree hasn’t translated into sound leadership. Many in the military likely saw through the bluster, knowing politicians come and go—but they’ll still be standing when the dust settles.
Old Pete Pete earned his undergraduate degree in political science from Princeton University, followed by a master’s in the same field from Harvard. He also served as a company commander in his ROTC unit—a role that, for those familiar with pop culture, evokes shades of Cadet Officer Neidermeyer from Animal House, though presumably with a bit more tact and a lot less theatrical menace.

I’m all for this idea
Lol. I read the first sentence. Wrote my first reply, then read your entire post. I agree.

It makes me laugh when they criticize you for calling TACO a fascist. Either wishful thinking or ignorance of the concept.

Trump’s “enemies within” are anyone who disagrees with him.
Americans must wake up

And also? Epstein.

Fyi. I would never date or be with an alpha male. Beta males would be my preference if I was looking.
I wonder what percentage of incels consider themselves alpha males? I woul bet 90% at least.
777446 -- Didn’t Hegseth go to Princeton rather than Harvard?
I think attended might be a better description for this performative imbecile.

Neidermeyer... DEAD!
