I (just about) guarantee that in the next election cycle, Republican judicial candidates (or Republican-powered PACs on their behalf) will run disingenuous ads saying that it was the Democrats who dragged out the Riggs-Griffin election instead of conceding in a “rigged” race. They know the average voter isn’t engaged, isn’t intellectually capable of understanding what happened, or too partisan to care.

Yes a county election director with years of experience would have been a good idea. I worked with two in Durham (Derek Bowens) and Wake. Anderson Clayton Democrats better put a great deal of effort into judicial elections

If a judge has to have a lifetime appointment to make a good decision then he is a coward. He or she is more concerned about their job than the impact of their decision on the lives of the citizens. That person should not be a judge. We have plenty of politicians who make decisions and votes based on their ability to get re-elected . They are not statesmen or stateswomen. They also are cowards. Citizens United needs to be overturned.
