Ted Budd echoed the same nonsense from Lara Trump.

I would’ve liked to have seen the article document when exactly FEMA did get to the mountains and what exactly they are doing. Most local politicians are working in their communities as they live there. Interviews I’ve seen said they were directing people to go to the online site to register for the $750 grant however, very few of them have Internet access. Is FEMA in the far western area in which he resides?

Trump should have been in jail, but that’s not going to happen: he has 6 of the 9 judges in his pocket 🤢

Since various political twists and turns since Biden made possible a leadership transition have taken place, there's been a quickened sense of time. And then we find ourselves in the middle of a hurricane season for the ages. NC has become quite a center of amplified activity, both political and atmospheric. I've been thankful to be a native North Carolinian all my life, and during these unfathomable, turbulent times I'm more thankful than ever. Maybe easy for me to say compared to my fellow North Carolina neighbors and friends at the moment whose homes and businesses are, or in some cases "were" in our western mountainous counties. But as Mills reminds readers of PoliticsNC, knowledge of history makes known the realities post-Civil War that were rife with dissemination of false information for purposes of agitating unrest, exacerbating racial divisions. Unpacking the "then" and the "now" for comparison with contemporary falsehood variables in the mix, shocking as it all is, does present a dilemma for those less militant, low informational registered Republicans and Independents. Because now--after the fast, furious deluge of people spreading wrong information during a weather disaster, it's harder to deny that a vote for trump is dangerous for everybody on the planet. Whereas before Helene, people could still come up with excuses to rationalize their votes to themselves. And for all we know, they still can and actually will. How anyone could defies any ethical moral code for living. And the notion that some might even still say, "The only way to get to a better place is to burn down all conventional government, so I'll vote for a trump/Vance ticket" points to very damaged souls. It makes me want to ask anyone who could think or do this, "Where are you hurting?"

Let's hope that Republicans' efforts to foment distrust in communities and destroy the credibility of the federal government response for short-term political game will not be successful. My cousins in Burnsville experienced a wonderful sense of teamwork from neighbors of very different political perspectives. In a crisis like the aftermath of Helene it’s time to trust official sources instead of agitating a mob

It really is disgraceful. I hope we survive all of the hate and disinformation from the top republicans but not sure we will. All for power.

It is truly sad that lies have become truth! People love spreading false information and lies! Coworkers of mine believe the lies and spread them as well!
