Not gonna hold my breath to see if Brave Brave Sir Robin actually is consistent on this one.

Even if he does withhold support, I'm viewing it as a blind squirrel finding a nut, not a grown man proving he has a couple.

That’s so weird… I was just thinking of that very comparison last night. Sir Tillis, who nearly voted not to confirm Pete Hegseth. Who almost penned a sternly worded letter…

I've been and remain a fan of Thom Tillis. I do have more optimism for this stage of his career, than I have at any time since Trump was first elected. I can't forsee him being an Adam Kinzinger or Liz Cheney. But I can see him going out swinging at the MAGA BS.

Whatever he does I am all on board for Roy Cooper 2026, to send MAGA a message, and to restore sanity to our state politics.

My bet is that Tillis takes that K-Street gig he’s been after for the last 10 years, and makes bank. If you’re counting on him finding his balls, that’d require a search warrant for Mar al Ego, where Fat Donny has them in a box in a goldtone bathroom. And I don’t see judges lining up to sign one of those.

He (rightly, if emptily) put Putin on blast just before he confirmed two of his biggest fans to lead our chief intelligence AND counterintelligence organizations. He has ALWYS been willing to vote for stuff he didn’t believe in, going all the way back to his ALEC Legislator of the Year award years when he was NC House Speaker. If it kept the grift coming he wasn’t going to let what passes for his conscience get in the way of it. And I don’t expect him to start now.

If you’re expecting him to have an Adam Kinzinger style Damascus Road experience, I wouldn’t put too much money on the probability. Somebody said of Senate Republicans that “a lot of these guys think they’re John MCCain, but they’re really just Thom Tillis”.

And that includes Thom Tillis.

Uncle Tom is relearning a hard truth most politicians eventually face represent your constituents, or risk political extinction. Rule number one: you were elected to serve the people who put you there. In North Carolina, which means protecting the interests of thousands who rely on Medicaid, an even larger number who depend on Social Security and Medicare, and a significant population with military benefits. Tom lost sight of that when he supported a budget that jeopardizes those programs and backed the nomination of a known domestic abuser with a drinking problem to lead the Department of Defense. Hopefully, his colleagues follow Robin's line of thought.

Overall, still a POS.

You can't restore something that never existed. Tillis exemplifies the kind of leadership that offers little in the way of vision or integrity. His record reflects a pattern of evasion rather than courage, and he consistently fails to rise above mediocrity.

Good riddance. As Rick Wilson says “everything trump touches dies.” (ETTD)

Tillis has shown us his real face. Nothing has or will change. He is a stranger in our state, comin' here in '98, and should return to the swamps of Florida from whence he came. He'll fit right in with Governor DeSatan's crew.

Not a fan of thom tillis. Not at all. He has made flip flopping an art form. I have written him a lot and always get a maga answer. He is a good example of the type of politicians we need to be rid of.

I don't believe Thom Tillis will go to the Emerald City and be granted courage. And I must warn readers that Jim Hunt was a popular governor when he ran against the late "Jesse Jeremiah Jubilation Day Helms" (Yes, Thomas I have been living in NC long enough to remember Chub Sewel ). in 1984. I love Roy Cooper and will support ($ and vote) but our rural folks will warm to Lara Trump unless her father-in-law's policies hurt them in their pocketbooks.
