This article contains several factual discrepancies. Mr. Mills asserts that David LaBarre received "dark money," yet public financial disclosures indicate that the Committee to Elect David LaBarre for Sheriff did not receive contributions from this PAC. Furthermore, he alleges that LaBarre has negatively impacted politics and democracy but omits that all PAC mailers include clear disclosures stating they were not authorized by any candidate or committee.

Additionally, Mr. Mills is associated with County Commissioner Matt Hughes, an open supporter of Sheriff Blackwood. Commissioner Hughes has referred to Thomas Mills as a “friend” on his Facebook post and expressed appreciation for his earlier article. It is worth noting that Commissioner Hughes reported direct contributions from ‘Political Party Candidates’ (PAC) on his own financial filings, while no such direct contributions from this PACs appear on Mr. LaBarre’s records.

Overall, the article seems to lack objectivity and could be interpreted as advancing particular political interests rather than presenting an impartial account.

LeBarre states that he will push back against ICE should they come calling. The only thing I can find that Blackwood says is that he will cooperate with state and federal partners. In today’s climate of "optional" Constitutional rights, I appreciate the the candidate who expresses his support for the law. That’s LeBarre.

I'm getting mailers. I will vote against the candidates they support. The reason is the same as cited here. I'm voting against the dark money.

Isn’t this how oligarchy works?
