If Sloan and Margo do not produce a candidate to win with their mystery "Grassroots" in this coming election, then will everyone FINALLY accept that they are actually leftist plants and not really in touch with the MAGA base-populist grassroots of North Carolina? How many times can those two nutjobs fail and still have cred?

Anyone running against Tim Moore in the Republican Primary would have my vote! Not my district so it's not relevant to me. But, hope others will take note. Tim is a self-serving state representative with a track record of supporting measures that are not good for NC just because they don't align with national ultra-conservatism. Tim has not served NC well and he needs to go.

Perhaps a more troubling issue for moderates in the 4th District is the exceedingly large quantity of currency being expended in the Primary, relatively quietly, by the current incumbent and her repeat challenger from 2024. Already more than double (triple?) the total spent in the Skipper Bowles gubernatorial campaign which included TWO primaries and a general election - a paltry $1.5B. Okay, that was 55 years ago and the dollar was more valuable.

No wonder many of Dems strongly support gun control ... 'cause we can't seem to miss our own toes :-)

Classic! Thanks.

If the grassroots are drying up, might be a great time for a controlled burn.

What makes you think the "grassroots are drying up"?

The article mentions that Morrow is having trouble energizing the grass roots. Personally, I don't think the "grassroots" of this bunch will ever dry up, their beliefs, no matter how flawed, or how strong the argument against, is embedded in their DNA.

This is encouraging, I guess?

Too bad Morrow hasn’t caught fire. Perhaps NC Republicans have learned fringe candidates are a disaster

Come on Independents! This is our chance to kick Whatley out of the race entirely. If for no other reason, it's a great reason to vote in the Republican primary vs the Democrat primary. The Independents are a large force in NC and we can make sure Whatley doesn't make it to the final election. Vote in the Republican primary and vote Brown or Morrow!

Any unaffiliated voters in Tim Moore's US House District (NC-14)? Kate Barr, switched parties to run as a Republican. She is actually a progressive Democrat, but in this extremely gerrymandered district, the determinate race is the primary.

She is NOT pulling a Tricia Cotham; she is staying true to her principles. But she thinks those are winners - affordable healthcare, sensible gun laws, well-founded public education, etc. IF the voters don't shut down because of a label of "Democrat"

Happened to have attended an event for Cooper last night where he asserted Whatley would be the Republican nominee. Hadn't heard/seen the Gov in person since his last race. He is still in the center of the bat-shit crazies, and very relatable. Just a shame Trump doesn't have a relative in the race to crush.
