Both parties are closing in on patterns that resemble their 2022 and 2018 early voting turnout, but unaffiliated voters are consistently 5 points or more higher day-over-day.
Carolina Federation, Down Home, and AINC and Swing Blue Alliance have teamed up together for our joint distributed phonebank program. People from all across the country are rallying behind North Carolinians in solidarity - join in the unified effort to reach as many voters by phone as possible across the state.
Sign up for our next phonebank where you can learn about our strategy, sign up for phonebanking shifts, and discover how you can take charge and have a hand in impacting the outcome of crucial NC elections.
Please join the zoom by computer at the start of the shift and have your phone charged and ready to go! We hold in depth tech and script trainings every phonebank. Plan to stay the full shift so that we can reach as many people as possible, and debrief as a whole group at the last 20 mins.
According to NC Center for Politics, Democrats are voting in even greater numbers than independents. Through yesterday Dems are up 185k from their 2022 same day totals for in person voting. It's not just unaffiliated voters who are showing up to vote so far this year.
So far, I have done 4 shifts as an Indoor pool observer in Mecklenburg County with the NC Dems. I am at the 2nd busiest polling place in the county and I am encouraged by the turnout - of the 16 hours of observing, the only time there were not people waiting to get admitted to the voting enclosure was the last 10 minutes of the shift on Sunday. [I did one weekday morning (8 - noon) shifts, 2 weekday early afternoon shifts (noon - 4 pm), and the Sunday shift]. We have also seen an explosion of first time voters. On my Sunday shift we had at least 18 (I lost track!)
Turnout in Mecklenburg county is running 60+ % higher than the last midterms, but is still not where I'd like to see it! The good news is that it is running above average in HD-105/SD-42 where we have been focusing a lot of our canvassing efforts.

This isn’t an original thought, but vote early if you can.
Avoid Election Day drama.
