In swing states, expect Trump to send ICE thugs around polling places to intimidate brown-skinned voters and discourage turnout, and the FBI to seize ballot boxes in precincts if the election is close and the Senate is about to flip to Democratic control.

For Coopers ceiling to be 49% that means every undecided in the poll would not vote for him.

The Downballot cited one poll over the weekend showing Cooper AT the 50% mark, with WHatley at 39%. And Anita Earls may be running in the most important election in the state in 2026 out side of *maybe* Cooper. the chances to return the NCSC to some kind of sanity really rest with her winning this cycle and reclaiming the majority in the next one.

And I still say don’t sleep on NC09. NC11 has better odds now that Chuckles has been caught in a scandal but nobody really likes Richard Hudson; he just hasn’t had the right challenger before.

With everything going on, I missed that Chuck Edwards was being investigated. A quick Google search pulled up this:

His denials certainly ring hollow to me.

While these polls are nice, my fear is they may lead to complacency.

We all have a role to play in getting Cooper and Earls over the finish line. We all have agency or as substack author Robert Hubbell likes to say "We are not potted plants".

I'm not sure what part of the state you are in, but I am in Mecklenburg County and we aren't letting our foot off the gas. Indivisible Charlotte has been canvassing twice per month for Justice Earls and also twice per month in HD-105 (Ken McCool taking on Tricia Cotham) and SD-42 (Woodson Bradley).

The NC Democratic Party has also launched an "anytime" canvass program across the entire state for Justice Earls and the other judicial candidates. The link below also includes a link to the Quick Start Guide. You don't need to wait for a Zoom meeting to get started.

I'm part of a postcard network with pick-up points around the county. We have started stockpiling a massive quantity of Get-out-the-Vote postcards to mail out in October to low-propensity progressive voters with Postcards to Swing States (https://turnoutpac.org/). We did the same thing in 2024 and it was a very successful distribution system. They will send you the postcards for free, but you pay for the stamps.

FYI, there are also two other postcard campaigns to promote Roy Cooper for the Senate:

* Field Team 6 (www.fieldteam6.org) is writing postcards to register likely Democrats using messaging that Cooper will fight for us - you can choose from six different scripts.

* Activate America (www.activateamerica.vote) has a campaign that contrasts Cooper with the GOP and contains a link to voting information.

For these latter two campaigns you provide your own postcards (and the stamps).

Ummmm...aren't the pictures reversed? Anita Earls is on the right......

I agree, the names are reversed.

Based on the polling we’ve seen so far, it’s clear that Roy Cooper is running from a position of real strength in the race for U.S. Senate. While no election result is guaranteed until the votes are counted and certified, the current numbers show him with a steady and meaningful lead. That’s encouraging news.

It’s the ECONOMY, stupid! It will always be that no matter what else the republicans try to stir up. We saw how it went down with Joe Biden in spite of his strong leadership and the best post Covid recovery in the world. People were convinced that they were no better off in their pocketbooks. And it mattered.

I am sure Republicans are planning another October surprise skullduggery, so Cooper better be digging hard for something to retaliate with.
