Berger has carpet bombed the airwaves on both TV and radio in the triad, and at no time has he had an ad that went more the 15 seconds without mentioning Trump.
Anyone that can blow $6.1M on ads for the primary must be seriously raking in cash from special interests, including casinos that he tried to jam through over his county's objections, charter school management companies that are unaccountable and are not held to the same standards as public schools and utilities that have very rarely been denied a rate increase.
$6.1M for a job that pays less than $100K. There must be some serious perks that we don't know about
Several weeks ago you recommended anyone registered as independent vote for Michelle morrow. Do you still think that’s a good way to defeat Berger? We need guidance.
Berger is being challenged by Sam Page, the state senate district runs along the SC border, Rockingham at the center. Page has won election as sheriff. His politics are as right-wing as Berger but at least he'd have no seniority in Raleigh. Hopefully the strong Democratic candidate will beat either.
Bird of a feather in adjacent, but newly gerried to include Moore County, district, Sen Tom McInnis, seems to have serious opposition in the primary from Ray Daly. Main themes are smart growth, local control, representing the area rather than Raleigh buddies.
The best *single* thing. There’s a lot that needs to change to bring back democracy in NC. Starting with making sure Anita Earls holds her seat on the SC. The contesting *every* district, even if it looks hopeless. If we’re contesting 120 state house and 50 state senate seats across all 100 counties, even if the races are hopeless the Republicans have to respond. Which means they have to put resources into those races that they would otherwise concentrate on more competitive seats. It will take a full court press, but for the first time in a long, long while, it looks like we have a state party that’s up to the challenge. Reclaiming a majority in one or (dare I dream) both chambers would allow us to fix a lot of shit that’s been broken over the last 15 years. But then we gotta deliver on it. Otherwise we’re just back to status quo ante and that’s how we got *here*
And Steve Luking is an excellent Democratic candidate with deep community roots. He personally battled Berger for Medicaid funding based on his experience with patients in Rockingham County. Will be interesting!
Berger needs to go!

Berger has been a carbuncle on NC’s butt for far too long. Maybe we can finally get him removed?

No, Rockingham County. The district runs along the Virginia border.
Michele Morrow is running in a primary against Michael Whatley to become the GOP nominee against Cooper. She’s not in the Berger race.
Wouldn't that be against Whatley, not Berger?

Getting Berger out of power in Raleigh is the best thing that could happen to democracy in NC.
