Thank you. I’m sickened by the numbers of MAGA still support this fascist regime. There is nothing Constitutional about this. The Republican Party I used to know is a disaster. This is un- American. Thanks again.

Thank you PoliticsNC. As much as trump and cronies desire to create chaos and fear, it is not working—clearly steady hands on the wheel is the way to go. Yes, the damage from reality show politics disturbs, but complicity from weak people elected to serve is so glaring that the worst, as in a tillis, choose shadows. Keep “shining the headlight on a northbound train.” I’m reminded of scripture that says we are given the light we need but not all at once. Cannot recall how scripture puts it. Many references to light and lanterns come to mind.

What to do? I urge all of Thomas' readers to Track down the Fe.28 article in Liberal Currents by Melvin Rogers: If Reinhold Niebuhr Could Speak to Us Today, What Would He Say? It is foundational reading as we decide on our different actions, because as much as I like James Carville, inaction is not an option!

In the past, I have been critical of Republican politicians, but I have never doubted their loyalty to our country. However, yesterday, Trump did something unprecedented in our nation's history: he sided with an enemy of the United States. Trump and his protégé, J.D. Vance, echoed Russian propaganda and disparaged the leader of a country bravely standing up to Russian aggression.

This is inexcusable. If Republicans in Congress fail to act, they are just as culpable as Trump. They are no longer the loyal opposition but merely self-serving individuals living off taxpayer funds. Please excuse my editing. Apparently something went wrong with my word processing program. But the facts still remain.

What's your recommendation for the best forms of resistance, Thomas? Can you do a piece on that?

I said earlier last week that his whole presidency is reality TV. He is on TV everyday with reporters crammed into the Oval office signing BS executive orders, or making announcements, or with foreign leaders. Our previous president just went quietly along doing his job for the American people. Sure miss those days.

If by great television you mean something that makes you rage cry in the car and yell into the void until you’re hoarse, then sure. Otherwise, spot on my friend. These are bad days, thanks for being out there.
