SPEAKER 2
I'm Thomas Mills with Politics NC Podcast, and we're here today with restless natives, and we have our regular guest, Travis Fain, the former reporter for WRAL, as well as numerous other newspapers, and Anderson Clayton, the chair of the North Carolina Democratic Party. Guys, I appreciate you being here. So, let's jump into this thing.

Phil Berger is the Senate President Pro Tem, arguably one of the most powerful men in the state, and he's been in that position for longer than anybody's ever held it. All of a sudden, it looks like he has a primary from a sheriff in Rockingham County that may be more popular than him.

And a poll showed up in the last few weeks that shows Berger seriously trailing, is his name Sam Page? I think Sam Page is the sheriff. So Travis, why don't you jump in and tell us a little bit about the dynamics of that?

Good conversation w/Anderson & Travis.

I wish when I hear “the Democrats do it too,”gerrymander, someone would say, but when Democrats had the crayon the balance was 7-6 or 6-7 NOT 10-4.

I moved here in 1991 and in that time when Dems had NCLEG they were less craven or maybe just have a greater sense of fairness.

Onward!
