My quandary--I know well meaning friends who have asked me, "How did the NC primary voting go?" Because why? Not a priority to become informed? Even reasonably educated citizens--it sure seems--may be too consumed with "their" day-to-day. And are not pinched, squeezed, or hurting and are happier keeping politics at arm's length. I get it. But not really. The world scene--messy. Wars. National political "news"--soundbitten. Circus(y). Mayhem of Jan. 6, 2021? A fadeout. If reasonably minded, reasonably caring citizens ask about outcomes of the NC primary held on March 5, 2024, how do we gauge energy of the present moment? (Rhetorical question). An aside: I have an astute nephew who is with his fiancé in Japan at the moment--she's an oncology research physician at UNC Hospital, he a medical business consultant for hospital systems. These two travel quite a bit. His perspective--a wide-eyed 38-year old. His most recent comments sobering when he mentions the United States. It's not pretty.
