“Writer Andrew Dunn argued that the case could damage the credibility of the GOP by giving credence to the argument that Republicans want to steal elections.“
This assumes facts not in evidence; to wit, that the GOP had any credibility left in the first place. The “hurricane relief” bill passed after Helene knocked our western counties flatter than hammered shit put paid to any vestige of credibility the NC GOP might have had left. The Griffin shenanigans were just polish on a turd.
But here’s the problem: The Republican majority doesn’t CARE that the game is up. They know it, we know it, and they know we know it, and they’re daring us to do something about it. And what I fear is that the “something” will get ugly, because it’s now clear that the ballot box is stolen and the jury box is sold. And if that doesn’t change there won’t be but one box left.
I agree, especially with your last paragraph. 20 years ago, republicans tried shady, behind-the-scenes tactics to win elections. today, they are so up-front with their corruption that I would imagine that when the 2028 elections roll around, they would simply toss out democrat votes for no reason.
