Roy Cooper running against Tillis is a masterful move on the part of Dems. We now need to put weight behind Chuck Hubbard to defeat Virginia Foxx.

We can only hope Cooper throws his hat in the ring. I have nothing against Wiley Nichols, but I think Thomas's analysis is spot on.

With respect to Tillis, if you haven't watched the empty chair town hall forThom Tillis, I highly recommend it:

Everybody please hammer Tillis on the budget bill with all the cuts to Medicaid and SNAP to finance tax breaks for billionaires. Democracy Labs has some great shareable information here:

This day of Tillis in Raleigh and then the Tillisless town hall later was expertly covered by NC Newsline. I was there for much of it and the narrative goes granular in the best way:

Last post, I promise, but Cooper needs to be in Washington. It would be like sending integrity back to buck those who have lost that virtue.

Interestingly, I just phoned the White House Connection for Tillis and it went dead after saying hold for sending a message.

Are you on 5 Calls? There is a webpage (https://5calls.org/) as well as downloadable apps for Andriod and Apple devices from their respective app stores.

Once you put in your address, it will set you up to seamlessly call your 2 senators and your House Rep. One thing I like about it is it gives you the option to call any of the district offices in addition to the Washington DC office. Tillis has 3 or 4 district offices and you are far more likely to get a live person if you call one of them.

I suspect polls for Trump, Tillis, et al to fall drastically due to rising prices caused by the Trump National Sales Tax on imports ;(see Wal-Mart's announcement of higher prices on bananas, coffee, avocados, etc.) What went around, finally came around.

The deadline to file isn't until December 19th. Maybe it is to Cooper's advantage to wait until then to file so Tillis' camp has to use some of their resources preparing for Nickel. Logically you'd expect a candidate to simply publicize his good deeds, though that kind of requires having good deeds to publicize.

I write to Tillis and Budd every damn day. They have started responding more. I got two replies from Tillis and one from Budd today. I think they are beginning to feel the heat. The resistance is real.

Budd is way more responsive to me now than he has been - even at the start of 2025. I don’t like what he says, but he’s responding to just about every issue I call about.

For any postcard writers out there - Field Team 6 has an active postcard campaign to register new Democrats and progressive Independents in advance of the 2026 midterms. Tillis is used as a hook to get people to register.

Have you written any of those FieldTeam6 postcards, Cheryl? I might get some after I finish my EVP NYC cards.

If Cooper does run, Tillis is going the way his former peer from Colorado (Cory Mills), it will be a shellacking.

Beware of a Trump endorsement of any Republican candidate in North Carolina, especially if economic conditions improve

"Neither Nichols nor any Republicans would likely have significant name recognition at this point."

I attended the mass call last night for Hands Off Our Healthcare. It was on You Tube Live and well worth your time IMO. The replay can be found here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NcXP88alCc

There were several calls to action during the call which you will see if you text NOCUTS to 70303.

The budget bill with cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, etc. is NOT a done deal, but we must fight back NOW!!
